EXPLORINGWILD · MAC VIEWER
A closer look at your TrackScans.
Version 1.0 · macOS 14 Sonoma or later
One download for Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
Purchase and download
ExploringWild Viewer is $2.99 USD as a one-time purchase, with no free trial. Any applicable taxes are shown at checkout. Buy the Mac viewer through Lemon Squeezy, then download the ZIP from your completed order or receipt. Already purchased? Find your download in My Orders using your checkout email address.
Install
- Drag ExploringWild Viewer.app from the extracted download folder into your Applications folder.
- Open ExploringWild Viewer from Applications. If macOS asks whether to open the downloaded app, choose Open.
- Choose Explore a sample to try the viewer, or Open USDZ to load your own model.
Bring a scan from your iPhone
In ExploringWild, open a saved TrackScan and choose Export 3D Model. Transfer the USDZ file to your Mac using AirDrop or iCloud Drive. Open it in the viewer, drag it onto the window, or use Finder’s Open With → ExploringWild Viewer.
Inspect the surface
Drag to rotate. Scroll or pinch to zoom. Choose Fit to recenter. Use the inspector to switch between Perspective, Top, Front and Side, adjust lighting, and change the background. Turn off Original appearance to inspect the model with a neutral surface. Save a PNG of the current view with the camera button.
| Open a model | ⌘O |
| Fit the model | ⌘0 |
| Perspective / Top / Front / Side | ⌘1 / ⌘2 / ⌘3 / ⌘4 |
| Save the view as a PNG | ⇧⌘S |
| Show or hide inspector | ⌥⌘I |
| Full screen | ⌃⌘F |
Your models stay on your Mac
The viewer works offline and does not upload files, collect analytics or require an account. Opening and inspecting a model leaves the original USDZ unchanged. It saves recent-file bookmarks on your Mac and PNG images only when you choose to save them. Clear the recent list from the sidebar without deleting your models.
What this version includes
This viewer opens one USDZ at a time. Journal notes, scan metadata and iPhone measurement annotations are not imported. It does not measure or identify animals. The bundled sample is a synthetic impression for exploring the controls, not a real track or a species identification.
Help and updates
If a file cannot be opened, try exporting it again from ExploringWild and transferring the complete USDZ. Your current model remains available if another file fails to load. Larger models may take more time and memory to open.
